If you're not thinking about Zurich for your next city break we'd suggest you might be missing a trick.
Switzerland's largest city is a fascinating melting pot of history and architecture, amazing scenery and fantastic food. There's also a real party atmosphere with excellent nightlife and an array of fun-filled outdoor festivals. From magnificent views from Uetliberg to the fascinating Old Town, there's so much to take in.
All that and you're also well within day-trip territory if you're looking to visit 'The Top of Europe' - the Jungfraujoch in the Swiss Alps.
These churches are two of the city's most recognisable buildings, located either side of the River Limmat in the heart of the Old Town.
The Fraumünster is an iconic building, dating back to 853 and famous around the world for its spectacular stained glass windows. These were created by renowned artists Marc Chagall and Augusto Giacometti.
Across the water you've got the Grossmünster which, with its twin towers, dominates the city skyline. Head up to the top of the Karlsturm, the southern tower, for fantastic views. These are two of the must-see attractions when exploring the city.

There's possibly no better place from which to take in the city, set against the backdrop of the magnificent Swiss Alps.
Some say this is Zurich's very own mountain, and at more than 2,800ft above sea level it towers above the city below. After a short train journey there are plenty of hiking trails to follow if you're looking to reach the summit. The best views can be found atop the climbable viewing tower.
While we appreciate this is totally subjective, we don't make such bold claims lightly.
Few places do chocolate quite like Switzerland and Zurich is home to an array of experiences, factories, shops and tours to get your teeth stuck into. That includes drinking chocolate, and there are many cafes and restaurants which do it exceptionally well.
Check out the Lindt Home of Chocolate which features an interactive exhibition, workshops, a cafe, and the largest Lindt chocolate shop in the world. Does it get any better than that?
A long weekend in Latvia: Your travel to-do list for a city break in remarkable Riga
Zurich is home to some fun and energetic nightlife, and known for its impressive selection of bars, clubs and rooftop venues. The Langstrasse quarter is the most popular entertainment district offering up everything from lively pubs to stylish cocktail bars.
In the summer the city goes outdoors with a packed festival schedule. Huge crowds descend on the street parade heralded as the largest techno party on the planet, electronic and rock acts perform at Zurich Openair, and around 50,000 film fans descend on the outdoor Allianz Cinema set against the idyllic backdrop of Lake Zurich.
We're probably into day-trip territory with this one but it's well worth a mention.
Referred to as 'The Top of Europe', the Jungfraujoch in the Swiss Alps is not to be missed. The area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to Europe's highest train station and largest glacier. To reach the peak you'll need to take a coach trip to the Bernese Oberland before boarding a cable car for a jaw-dropping 15-minute ride to the Eiger Glacier. You'll then access the peak of Jungfraujoch by cogwheel train.
Widely recognised as a must-do experience when in these parts.
The city falls firmly into hidden gem category.
From sensational sunsets to ancient temples.
