It's ale change... Expanded BrewDog bar to open at airport

Expanded BrewDog on the way.

It's all change at the airport, with new bars, shops, and restaurants on the way in the coming months.

BrewDog will expand its presence at the airport by opening up an impressive new bar complete with more beer taps and food options.

It will take over the unit currently used by Hudson St Grill, close to gate 11, later this year with the existing BrewDog making way for the new Icons sports bar.

In addition, Sainsbury's will open its first airport shop here, complete with an in-store bakery. Work will begin on this after Marks and Spencer Simply Food closes at the end of September.

The changes come amid a major revamp of the food, drink and shopping options at Scotland’s busiest airport – now part of the VINCI Airports network of more than 70 airports around the world.

Pizza Express will open a new restaurant in departures, and Seoul Bird, a Korean fried chicken restaurant, will launch its first Scottish and airport franchise.

Passengers will see some changes around the terminal while these works take place however our teams will ensure any disruption is kept to a minimum.

Gail Taylor, Chief Commercial Officer (non-Aero) at Edinburgh Airport, said:

“We’re always looking to provide the very best choice to our passengers and meet the demand for the things they want, whether it’s a drink to toast that trip away or some essentials after they return from their break.

“Our BrewDog bar has been a huge success since opening at the airport five years ago, so seeing it move into a larger unit and expanding its offering was always going to be a popular option. This is one of several changes people will see in the coming months, and we’re sure the arrival of Sainsbury’s – one of the UK’s top supermarket chains – will also go down well with our passengers.
