This German city is dripping with modernity and style. Known as a centre for business with a fantastic cultural scene which continues to thrive, there’s also the chance to try some of Germany’s finest beer. Check out one of the many breweries and grab a pint of the city’s renowned Altbier. Visit Old Town (Altstadt) or as it is more commonly known, the longest bar in the world! Home to over 260 pubs and bars it is the perfect destination after a long day of exploring.

A few hundred metres from Altstadt is the Rhine Promenade, connecting the city to the waters of the Rhine. Lined with beer gardens and restaurants it is a great place to relax and enjoy some great views!

The Media Harbour is a great destination for a relaxing stroll along the waterfront. It is a hub for trendy bars and restaurants with stunning modern architecture. Whilst you’re there make sure to visit the Rheinturm, the 800-foot tower’s observation deck and revolving restaurant provide stunning panoramic views of the whole city.

The city is host to several festivals throughout the year, from the Düsseldorfer Karneval in November, to Kirmes – the Largest Fair on the Rhine – festival in July, there is plenty of opportunity to soak up the local culture.

With its impressive modern architecture, historic Old Town, and Germany’s best shopping boulevard – Dusseldorf is a brilliant city break!
